JD Clement Early College High School is an A plus school with exceptional students, but without any doubt, exam week is difficult regardless if you're taking college exams or EOCs. There are two main stages that characterize exams: pre-exam and post-exam. Pre-Exam: The day before exams, there are two types of people: those who cramm and the relaxers. Cramming allows students to use their last couple of hours to memorize as much information as possible the night before the exam to increase their likelihood of obtaining a good score. The relaxers, on the other hand, are those who either feel confident because they created a study plan or are trying to relax, knowing that they will have to wing it the next morning. Quintin McCree, a Junior, found this specific exam week stressful because he had to not only make time to study, but also after school activities. For many of us, Final Exams are stressful, but not for Armani Pittman, another Junior who says exams “Weren't stressful, it all depends on how well you prepared.” I couldn't agree more. How well you prepare determines how well you perform. Post- Exam: Finally, the exams are over, but if you weren't prepared, it's most likely that being done with them will only increase your stress and anxiety levels because now you have to think about how your exam grade will affect your overall class grade. Armani Pittman recommends to “study and not wait until the last minute to bring your grade up.” Relying on the final exam to improve your grade will only cause you to have a stressful end of the semester. Accordingly, Principal Woods-Weeks wants to ensure an exam week “operating within the guidelines,” assuring a smooth process for faculty and students to perform extremely well. She expects that if teachers and faculty can “Stay calm in the storm, the hope is that the students will feed off our calmness and come in calm, ready to knock it off.” Good Luck to everyone! We all need it once in awhile. Many are aware about the clown sightings happening all over the United States. Clowns being scary is not really new, because clowns being depicted as scary has been a thing for a long time The thought of clowns being scary most likely came from Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel “It” (which is actually getting it’s second film adaptation in 2017 starring Bill Skarsgård as the killer clown).
This novel stars Pennywise the clown, who does one thing, murder children. This movie has actually inspired other horror or action films to show clowns as threatening criminals or monsters. After this novel came out, the thought of clowns being scary became a reality. Children having a fear of clowns has gained momentum over the years. All of the killer clowns around the U.S. have increased the commonality. The current sightings of clowns in the U.S are not new and begun a few years ago. However the more recent clown sightings are the most frequent of the previous occurrences. Sadly, these clowns are being passed off as simple pranksters and people that just want to bother others. The reality is that some accidents with these clowns have been quite terrifying. This has gone too far where to the point that McDonald's mascot Ronald McDonald is laying low until this clown thing is over. Yes Ronald McDonald has to lay low until this clown thing stops. It is important to stay safe, especially this Halloween. Parents should make sure that this Halloween your kids are safe when Trick-or-Treating, or a creepy clown may pop out of the woods. Happy Halloween everyone! The Magnificent Coloring Book Tour was the first concert I had ever been to, and I would have to say that it was indeed magnificent. This did not seem to be an ordinary concert where you jump up and down to the music and scream the lyrics. Chance the Rapper allowed all of his fans to connect to him and understand why he wrote each his song. For me, it acted more as a gospel concert than anything else. Chance’s entire concert was a storyline. His storyline spread messages to his fans; the lyrics touched their lives. The concert was beautiful. For an hour and a half, he took he fans through three mixtapes and life. This journey then ended with his words of encouragement and inspiration to fans. He delivered some of the most spiritual and uplifting offering that this genre has ever seen. Just as he said in his song, he was determined to “speak to God in public.” The concert definitely had its hype moments, but by the end of the concert, the message was clear. Chance told the crowd that he was sent here to send a message, and that, he did. He warned all of his fans that we would never find our blessings on his mixtape or in his music. Chance was sent to deliver a message… and he did a great job, indeed, of spreading his message.
