The 2016 presidential election has caused turmoil throughout the country. This year’s election expanded the great divide in America. The elections were essentially the old America Vs. the new America. This year’s elections made many Americans anxious as to what will happen after the elections are over. Before the closing of the polls, there was an abundance of tension in the air. According to one person the election would be like “Getting shot by a gun or falling onto a knife.”Another person stated: “There is a serious problem with our politics, we are no longer voting for people. We need to start voting for individuals and stop voting for a party.” Those parties have had a significant contribution to the division in the country. Throughout the election it has been Republicans Vs. Democrats, conservatives Vs. liberals. November 8th, 2016 was election day. It was the final day for American citizens to determine their fate. The results of the election designated Donald Trump as our 2017 president elect and Mike Pence as the vice president. Reactions: Lucero Alavez: “Disbelief, but also I felt inspired, because I thought: ‘this happened’ but, yet again, ‘this is a beginning’” Marilyn Ceron: “Disappointed” Anonymous: “I didn’t care, he can’t really do nothing” Alan: “I would lean more to the liberal. He does not affect me. Donald Trump is still a joke to me.” Who won the debate? How some one would describe that Hillary Clinton was well prepared for the debate more than Donald Trump was and it is true because before Hillary started campaigning she was the Secretary of state, a senator, and a lawyer, so before the debate she had the upper hand. Trump however was more like a salesman type kind of guy based on what BBC NEWS said because he did give his answers of how he was going to run things in office, but it seemed in the debate that he could not back it up what he was saying. As the debate went on, Trump continued to be put down by Hillary answers which indeed made her seem more prepared and she provided evidence to what she was saying unlike Donald Trump. At the end or the debate, people would say that Hillary won and some might had said Donald Trump, but who truly won is up to you are your perspective of the debate and that at the end as well Trump supporters were enraged while, Hillary’s supporters were satisfied.
